PostNatural Program 2024

Participants at IPS gathered around a sofa having a discussion

11 Apr PostNatural Program 2024

Caroline Ward was selected as an artist-researcher to participate in the year long inaugural PostNatural Independent Program of the Institute for Postnatural Studies based in Madrid. An international cohort sought to collectively consider who is “we”? And how can “we” stay together, despite our differences? How can “we” create collectivity without sameness, and bypass the pull towards homogeneity?  A program of lectures and conversations included amongst others, Karen Barad, Claire Colebrook, Stacy Alaimo, Cary Wolfe, Institute of Queer Ecology, Filipa Ramos, Gesyada Siregar and Báyò Akómoláfé. Caroline’s work, Attunement #1, exploring the mechanisation of bird-human communication, was shared as part of the final exhibition ‘We?’ at Matadero Madrid, and associated publication.
